This is the list of all Tough Dog suspension parts for Toyota Land Cruiser VX 200. There are a few things you need to keep in mind when shopping for liftkits to the VX 200 Land Cruiser, but I have listed those where they are relevalt.

Note: Due to the front to rear rake of this vehicle, the rear can ONLY be lifted 20mm. The front will come up 40mm to level the vehicle out.

I took the time to build this list for the users of my other website LandcruiserV8.com, since I had recived a number of emails regarding spare part numbers for those models.

Australian 4×4 off road brand Tough Dog, have released a new model of adjustable steering dampers. The new Steering damper have a 35mm bore, and a 22mm piston rod, to make sure it can handle the toughes 4×4 off road action you can throw at it. Like some of the other Tough Dog shock absorbers, it’s adjustable and features a 9-position external control knob.

Tough Dog SV steering damper

Many shock absorber marketeers design their shocks to make them 20% firmer than original, but sometimes you dont want a harder shock – sometimes you just need a stronger one with larger capacity. To fix this, Tough dog desided to use their experiance with adjustable shocks, and transfer that to the new steering damper model as well.

When I was looking for a new diff lock for my brothers Toyota Land Cruiser LJ70, I found the Aussie Locker automatic differential lock. I knew there were a few automatic differential locks on the market, but I must admit I knew very little about how they worked, how reliable they were, or how to install them.

If you can install a set of brakes you can install the Aussie Locker

The fact that its very cheap and everyone can install it, the only thing left to look at is how it works, and how it is to use Off Road.

My Opinion

+ Price 1/4 of a Airlocker

+ Simplicity

+ Easy to install

- Always on

How the Aussie Locker works:
If I should sum up how it works as simpel as possible, it would be to compare it with a Ratchet. It allows one wheel to spin faster than the other – but not slower. So when you turn, the outside wheel want to rotate faster, and the ratchet function allows the wheel to do that. If the inside wheel starts slipping or when you are going straight again, the diff lock will lock the two wheels together again.

How Aussie Locker works

How the Aussie Locker looks:

How the Aussie Locker looks

The Aussie Locker comes in a small box with everything you need. The installation guide is easy to follow, and you should be able to install the Aussie Locker in about one hour. Check their website for more info.

I was on the hunt for a alternative to the ARB airlocker, and came across TJM Pro Locker. It’s a air-operated differential lock like the ARB airlocker. They use a air operated piston style actuator, that aim to eliminate the risk of oil being pumped up the airline. Larger pinion gears, stronger materials and a thicker carrier makes the TJM a very interesting diff lock, and I look forward to getting my hand on one in the future.
